How to Blog like a Cat in 5 Easy Steps

by: cocomeezer | Total views: 269 | Word Count: 823

Cats are online. Cats are chatting. Cats have blogs. There are some that people visit over and over again. When did cats get so smart? Are you thinking youd like to blog like a cat? Well, its easy. Lets get started.

Step 1. Have a cat. Its important to have a cat before you start blogging like one. Sometimes people borrow a friends cat or their parents cat or even a neighbor cat, but its never as good as if you actually have a cat you can watch.

Cats are a source of endless inspiration. Not sure what to write about that day? Then what has your cat been up to? If you dont have the cat in your own home, how will you know? If you call up your neighbor to ask what their cat has been up to, you risk making them think youre a bit odd. If they do answer you, you might get the answer that the cat slept all day.

Your cat doesnt have to be a purebred. There are a few Siamese cats blogging and a sphinx has just joined in, but for the most part the cats are pretty ordinary. We have puffy little cats, grand ginger toms, gray and white divas, gorgeous calicos and plain black terror cats all blogging online. Any cat can join in and blog.

Step 2. Get a blog. This is important. Most cats have free blogs on blogger and blogger beta. Make sure you have comments enabled so other cats can visit you. Its best to have the word verification to cut down on comment spam, but allow anonymous users so that those cats who happen to use wordpress or some other type of blog can also chat with you.

Blogger and Blogger Beta are free services. If you prefer wordpress, they also offer free blogs on their site. While Blogger has worked quite well for most cats, it tends to crash when a cat is having a party and an alternate site gets set up, typically over on a typepad account. The cats arent too hard on blogger. After all, a party can bring in over a hundred and fifty comments in one hour. Thats a heavy user load for any site!
Step 3. Have a digital camera. Cats love photos. How can they not? Theyre gorgeous and they know it. A cat blog isnt a cat blog without lots of pictures. Learn to take them. Someone has to. Learn to upload them to your computer and onto your chosen blog software.

Wordless Wednesday takes on a greater meaning to cats.

Step 4. Create Content. Oh. You didnt really think the cats did this do you? Maybe they do, but they channel into a humans head. Those paws are just too big for the keypad of most computers.

Whats your content you ask? Well whatever the cat is doing. Got a sleepy cat? Naps are good. This is where the digital camera comes in. Chased some toys? Jumped at shadows? What does this look like from your cats point of view? Invisible bugs? Attacking mice? Hmm!

Heck, if your cat has bowel problems, even having a large movement into the litter box can make an entry. In the cat blogging world no one is offended. Cats take this in stride. Comments are likely to be congratulatory that you are feeling better. Where else can you write about this?

Have a Tonkinese who really just likes to sleep? Then invent a persona. There are diva cats who fraternize with the stars and drink too much. There is a cat who is studying human behavior. There is another cat who is running for president. Finally, there is the fashion maven. What does your cat aspire to?

Of course the cat world has their own version of daily blogging. There's Meezer Monday(for Siamese). There's Midnight Monday (for black cats). Tuesdays are either Tabby Tuesday or Tummy Tuesday. Sometimes it's Tabby Tummy Tuesday. Wednesday is either Wordless Wednesday or Widebody Wednesday, typically both. Fridays are Frootbat Fridays for those Oriental bodytypes that have big ears. It's also Formerly Feral Friday for those cats who just wandered in.

Step 5. Get social. Cats live for comments on their blogs. Go make some. The other cats will soon come visit you to check out what life is like on your side of the world.

Congratulations! You are now blogging like a cat!
