For some pet owners, a pet containment system may sound like a bad idea. Actually, there are several good reasons why you should contain your pet. Some of these are safety and sanitation not just for the pet but also for pet owners.
Safety
Although it is necessary for pets to be able to roam around, exercise and play for them to be healthy and active, it is also important to consider the safety of the pets and the people around. Pets, especially dogs are born curious animals. You need to limit them in areas that might be harmful to them or in areas that they might harm other people. The best way to keep your dog safe is to contain him/her in your yard or home. There is a chance that your pet may be run by a vehicle if you left them unsupervised and uncontained. Since some pet owners do not want an unsightly fence around their home or have ordinances against visual fences, an electronic containment system is an ideal way to prevent your pet from leaving your property.
There are circumstances also where you let your pet go with you on trip by car. It is important to have your pet contained inside your car to avoid mishap and accident that could be dangerous not just for owner but also for the pet. There are several types of containment available in the market to choose from that would suit the preference of pet owner and the needs of pet.
Sanitation
Sanitation is another reason why it is advisable to contain pets. You might be comfortable having your pet roaming not just outside your house but also inside. However, you cannot let your pet have the access to every space inside your house. There are areas and corner in your house that should not let your pet have an access such as kitchen and dinning area. These are the places in your house where foods are kept, prepared and served. No matter how much you keep your pet clean chances are their hair might go to your food.
